Description

The Segregated System of Bovine Production (SSPB) is a set of processes, procedures and methods in the Nicaraguan beef production chain whose function is to provide guarantees by certifying the health and safety value of beef. The system establishes guidelines for achieving certification in the beef cattle production chain, including transport registration and veterinarian qualification. The SSPB defines specific responsibilities for farm owners, legal representatives, official and licensed veterinarians, and transporters. The system requires compliance with animal welfare, traceability, health and safety standards defined by the Competent Authority.
