Description
The Food Safety Regulation establishes provisions to guarantee the safety of primary agricultural food and animal feed in Peru, with a preventive and comprehensive approach. This regulatory framework creates the National Agrifood Safety System (SINIA), defines SENASA's competencies as the national authority, establishes sanitary authorization and certification procedures, and implements surveillance and control systems throughout the food chain. The regulation incorporates sanitary safety measures, traceability mechanisms and alert systems, in addition to regulating laboratory services and establishing a system of infractions and sanctions.
