Fecha de inicio: 12/01/2010
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

Decree 83 establishes an official classification system for agricultural and forestry soils for all of Chile, within the framework of Law No. 20,412, which implements incentives for agro-environmental sustainability. This classification distinguishes between irrigated soils (Classes 1R to 4R) and rainfed soils (Classes 1 to 8) for all regions except Magallanes, where a special classification system is implemented. The decree defines in detail the characteristics and limitations of each soil class, considering factors such as slope, depth, drainage and productive capacity. This classification is fundamental for the application of the Incentive System for Agro-environmental Sustainability of Agricultural Soils Program.
