Agreement on Agriculture of the World Trade Organization (AoA)

Fecha de inicio: 29/01/1994
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The WTO Agreement on Agriculture established the first multilateral framework for the reform of agricultural trade and domestic agricultural policies. This fundamental agreement introduced specific rules and commitments in three essential pillars: market access, domestic support and export subsidies. It established disciplines to reduce distortions in international agricultural trade and improve the predictability of the system. Commitments included the conversion of non-tariff barriers into tariffs and the progressive reduction of levels of trade-distorting domestic support.
