Resolution 1687 of 2021 – Sovereign Green Bond Framework of Colombia

Resolution of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit that adopted Colombia's Sovereign Green Bond Framework to guide green bond issuances by the Republic of Colombia in capital markets. The Framework established criteria for identifying Eligible Green Expenditures, the process for evaluating and selecting such expenditures, the management of proceeds from green bond issuances, and information and reporting mechanisms concerning allocation, results and impact. Proceeds could be associated with different eligible environmental categories, but these categories represented potential uses of financing and did not change the financial nature of the Framework. Resolution 1687 of 2021 was subsequently repealed and replaced by Resolution 2063 of 2022, which adopted Colombia's Sovereign Green, Social and Sustainability Bond Framework.
