The Coffee NAMA is part of Costa Rica's national efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, integrating sustainable actions in the production, processing and marketing of coffee. With key components such as the farm, the processing and marketing, the initiative aims to transform practices in the coffee sector, incorporating technologies that promote lower GHG emissions and greater energy efficiency. Implementation is supported by intersectoral governance and strategic alliances with national and international organizations. This Coffee NAMA concept includes transversal lines of action to ensure the coherence of activities and strengthen the climate resilience of the sector. Through projects such as the adoption of agroforestry systems and the use of meteorological data for adaptation to climate change, the Coffee NAMA has generated an impact on several producers.
