Description

The Policy aims to modernize and transform the agricultural and food sector, which is a key pillar of the country's economy. This policy seeks to create an enabling environment for improved production, productivity and competitiveness, focusing on innovation, quality production, trade and sustainability. The policy framework is based on public-private partnerships, with an emphasis on food security, sustainable development and risk management. The policy identifies five key pillars for development: sustainable production and productivity, market development and access, food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture with risk management and governance. Each pillar sets out specific strategies, such as improving agricultural infrastructure, adopting innovative technologies, developing markets for agricultural products and promoting environmentally sustainable agricultural practices. In addition, the importance of climate change adaptation, conservation of natural resources and creating opportunities for women and youth in the agricultural sector is highlighted.
