Reconocimiento a las semillas criollas y a la agricultura familiar: Resolución 317/22 del INASE en Argentina

Fecha de inicio: 21/07/2022
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

INASE Resolution 317/22 aims to register, identify, and commercialize Creole seeds in a simple and free manner, understanding them as those that, "whether or not they are native, have been cultivated in specific regions under family farming practices, and have been developed, adopted, and adapted through traditional techniques and maintain a certain heterogeneity." INASE's resolution establishes that to register Creole seeds, at least the following must be indicated: "genus and species, origin, place of harvest, germination capacity, physical purity, for the purposes of commercialization or delivery," understanding origin as a specific community, family, or place. Any person registered in the National Family Farming Registry (ReNAF) and any cooperative, association, or group made up of family farmers registered in the National Registry of Family Farming Organizations (ReNOAF) will be authorized to commercialize Creole seeds, with registration being "free and facilitated." This resolution marks a significant step in recognizing the historical work of family farmers in developing seeds, creating a framework of trust for the circulation of genetic material of great importance for the entire food system.
