(Colombia) Law No. 1776 - Creates and develops the Zones of Interest for Rural, Economic and Social Development (ZIDRES).

Fecha de inicio: 29/01/2016
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Law establishes the Rural, Economic and Social Development Interest Zones (ZIDRES) as territories with agricultural, livestock, forestry and fish farming potential, identified by the UPRA. These zones will be developed based on Comprehensive Rural Development Plans, oriented towards competitiveness, sustainable human development, regional economic growth, social development and environmental sustainability. To be considered ZIDRES, the areas must be isolated from large urban centers, require high costs of productive adaptation, have low population density, present high poverty rates or lack basic infrastructure. Projects in these zones must be aligned with the internationalization of the economy, prioritizing competitiveness and equity. ZIDRES are of public utility and social interest, except for expropriation purposes.
