Rules of Operation of the Agricultural Insurance Program

The main objective of the Program was to promote the development of agricultural insurance and the comprehensive management of risks in the agricultural sector. It was structured in two components: a subsidy for agricultural insurance premiums and support for insurance funds. The subsidy component sought to reduce the costs of premiums for agricultural producers so that they could insure their crops and animals against possible climatic, biological or market risks. The second component, support for insurance funds, was intended to train the funds, as well as to ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the system.
