Description

The main objective of the Decree is to regulate the procedure for the constitution, recognition and formalization of the Peasant Agro-Food Territories (TECAM) in Colombia. The TECAM are defined as territories historically occupied and managed by peasant communities, with the purpose of guaranteeing permanence in the territory, food sovereignty and the protection of the economic, social, cultural, political and environmental dimensions of the peasantry. The National Land Agency (ANT) is the entity in charge of carrying out the process of constitution, recognition and formalization of these territories, based on the preliminary proposal of the Plan for a Decent Life. This plan includes information on the geographic location, socioeconomic characteristics, unmet basic needs and sustainable development strategies.
