Description

The Decree modifies the previously approved Regulation on Milk and Dairy Products. These modifications have the main objective of guaranteeing the safety of dairy products and improving the quality of the production process in micro and small enterprises (MSEs) and artisanal producers. New requirements are established for these processing plants to obtain their sanitary certification, based on compliance with the General Principles of Hygiene and, where applicable, on the implementation of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System (HACCP). In addition, the deadline for milk producers to comply with the required microbiological specifications is extended until December 31, 2026. The Decree also provides for the creation of support programs by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) and the General Directorate of Health (DIGESA) to facilitate the adaptation of producers to the new regulations.
