Fecha de inicio: 15/03/2012
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Standard establishes the commercial names, physicochemical specifications, commercial information and test methods for milk marketed in Mexico. This standard aims to ensure that dairy products meet the necessary requirements to guarantee consumer safety and provide clear and accurate information. It focuses on defining the different types of milk according to their processing, such as pasteurized, ultra-pasteurized, evaporated, condensed, powdered milk, among others, and establishes the specifications that each type must meet to be marketed under these names. The test methods that must be used to verify compliance with these specifications are detailed. These methods include the determination of acidity, the amount of butterfat, density, the amount of non-fat solids, among other physicochemical parameters. In addition, criteria are established for the commercial information that must be included on the labels of the containers, guaranteeing that consumers receive truthful information about the product they purchase, such as the type of milk, its nutrient content, and the expiration and best-before dates.
