Fecha de inicio: 12/12/2018
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The ministerial agreement establishes the AgroSeguro system as a permanent productive security measure subsidized by the State, aimed at agricultural producers, livestock farmers and other productive agents in the agricultural sector in Ecuador. The agreement regulates the delivery of subsidies for the acquisition of agricultural insurance policies, covering climatic, biological and market risks that may affect agricultural and livestock production. Beneficiaries must be registered with the MAG and meet the specific requirements to access the project programs and services. Insurance policies cover short-cycle and perennial crops, as well as cattle, and have different subsidy percentages depending on the type of crop or livestock insured. The AgroSeguro project is responsible for the design, control, regulation, execution, monitoring and evaluation of the subsidy under the guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. Insurance operators must offer the insurance service, maintain a specialized technical team and have technological systems that are linked to the AgroSeguro Project platforms. The agreement also details the responsibilities of the beneficiaries, who must comply with the conditions established in the policies and maintain the risk status of the insured assets. Finally, the agreement establishes that the AgroSeguro Project may include new activities and modify the percentage of subsidy to the net premium of the policies, provided that it has the necessary technical reports and justifications and the authorization of the highest authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. .
