Regulatory Instruction No. 6, dated April 7, 2009, establishing detailed procedures for the authorization of vegetation removal and the use of raw forest material

This Normative Instruction establishes procedures for the authorization of vegetation suppression and the use of forest raw materials in Brazil. It regulates the issuance of Vegetation Suppression Authorizations (ASV) and Forest Raw Material Use Authorizations (AUMPF) by IBAMA. It includes measures for the protection of endangered species and control of the use of forest resources. It also establishes supervision mechanisms and sanctions for non-compliance.
