CONAMA Resolution No. 001 on Environmental Impact

This resolution establishes definitions, responsibilities, basic criteria, and general guidelines for the implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment as an instrument of the National Environmental Policy in Brazil. It defines what is considered an environmental impact and lists the activities that require an environmental impact study. It establishes the minimum content of the environmental impact study and report (RIMA), as well as the procedures for their preparation and review.
