Description

The National Program for Payments for Environmental Services - Forest+ is an initiative of the Brazilian Ministry of Environment that seeks to promote the private market for payments for environmental services in areas with native vegetation cover. The program aims to articulate public policies for conservation and protection of native vegetation and climate change. Additionally, it encourages monetary and non-monetary compensation for activities to improve, conserve, and protect native vegetation, and stimulates actions to prevent deforestation, degradation, and forest fires through private financial incentives. The program has a national scope, covering all Brazilian biomes.
