Decree No. 11,548 of June 5, 2023, establishing the National Commission for REDD+

This decree establishes the National Commission for REDD+ in Brazil, with the objective of coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing the National Strategy for REDD+ (ENREDD+). The commission also coordinates the development of requirements for accessing REDD+ results-based payments recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It is composed of representatives from various ministries, state environmental entities, indigenous peoples, traditional communities, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector. The commission has the authority to issue guidelines and resolutions on various aspects of REDD+, including the implementation of ENREDD+, safeguards, and the regulation of methodologies and financial mechanisms.
