Description

PNGATI is a Brazilian national policy that aims to ensure and promote the protection, recovery, conservation, and sustainable use of natural resources in indigenous lands and territories. Its objective is to secure the integrity of indigenous heritage, improve the quality of life, and provide conditions for the physical and cultural reproduction of current and future generations of indigenous peoples. The policy respects the sociocultural autonomy of these peoples and is implemented through various axes including territorial protection, indigenous governance, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable use of natural resources.
