Complementary Law No. 140 on Environmental Cooperation

This law establishes norms for cooperation between the Union, States, Federal District, and Municipalities in administrative actions related to environmental protection, natural landscapes, pollution control, and preservation of forests, fauna, and flora. It defines the responsibilities of each government level regarding environmental licensing and other administrative actions. The law establishes cooperation instruments and mechanisms to avoid conflicts of attributions among federal entities.
