Description

The decree establishes a series of adjustments in the prices of forestry investment to promote the sustainable management of forest resources. The main objectives of the decree are the protection, restoration and sustainable use of forest resources, protected areas and wildlife, in order to promote sustainable development in the country. In addition, it seeks to promote the coordinated participation of the private and social sectors in forest management and protected areas to improve their contribution to the economic, social and environmental development of Honduras. The main actions of the decree include the authorization of price adjustments of up to 50% for investments in national coniferous and broadleaf forests, deducting these costs from the value of the wood. Specific activities for forest protection are detailed, such as preventing and fighting fires, controlling illegal logging, and pest management. Likewise, the free use of forest by-products is authorized and the need to register and control these activities in the annual operating plans (POA) is established.
