Fecha de inicio: 30/08/2010
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The regulation establishes a comprehensive regulatory framework for the conservation and sustainable management of forest resources and biodiversity in the country. The National Institute of Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF) is designated as the competent authority, in charge of managing, regulating and promoting the rational and sustainable use of these resources. The functions of the ICF include the supervision of forest resources in national, private and municipal areas, ensuring their sustainable management and compliance with biodiversity conservation regulations. Furthermore, the regulation highlights the importance of collaboration between the public, private and social sectors for the co-management of protected areas and the implementation of sustainable environmental policies. The regulation also establishes the creation of several funds intended to finance programs and projects for the conservation and management of protected areas and wildlife. These funds are managed by boards made up of representatives from various sectors and their financing comes from both internal sources and international donations and financing. The regulations detail the obligations and responsibilities of the executing entities of these projects, ensuring transparency and accountability through regular audits. In addition, community participation and respect for traditional practices in the management of natural resources are promoted, with the aim of guaranteeing the sustainability and health of ecosystems and wildlife populations in Honduras.
