Description

The main objective of the Law is to establish the necessary mechanisms to promote agricultural modernization in the country, in order to increase production, improve its internal and external marketing, develop agroindustry and rationally use renewable natural resources. This law seeks to coordinate the activities of the public and private sectors, guaranteeing the effective participation of agricultural and forestry producers, and promoting investment in the sector to generate employment and improve the living conditions of the rural population. Among the notable actions of the law are the consolidation of the organization of the Agricultural Public Sector, the implementation of policies to encourage investment in the countryside, the promotion of agroindustrial development and the export of agricultural products, and the strengthening of services of technology transfer to producers. In addition, the law establishes an adequate framework for security in land tenure and access to it, allowing productive investments through lease or co-investment contracts. It also includes measures for agrarian reform, guaranteeing the unaffectability of agricultural lands and promoting the allocation of plots for their rational and sustainable exploitation.
