Description

The decree creates the Bioenergetic Municipalities Program, which will focus on promoting the use of biomass as an energy source to improve the quality of life and promote endogenous and federal development in Argentina. This program, under the direction of the Undersecretary of Food, Bioeconomy and Regional Development, seeks to promote productive diversification, job creation and sustainable development of the bioenergy sector. Strategic actions include the survey and analysis of the local bioenergy sector, awareness and technical training, processing and storage of residual dry biomass, and support for local projects. The beneficiaries will be selected municipalities, MSMEs, local cooperatives and public entities dedicated to bioenergy. The Bioenergy Coordination of the National Directorate of Bioeconomy will be responsible for the execution of the program, coordinating actions and monitoring its progress. In addition, the use of residual biomass will be promoted to avoid negative environmental impacts and support the transition towards a decarbonized energy matrix.
