The general objectives of the policy are to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity, encourage intersectoral participation and coordination, and reduce biodiversity loss through unified efforts. Specifically, it seeks to strengthen institutional capacities and promote governance in the management of biodiversity, promote the conservation of ecosystems, species and genetic diversity through preservation and education strategies, and promote the sustainable use of biodiversity based on scientific knowledge. and traditional. The policy is structured into three strategic axes: governance and institutional strengthening, biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. In the first axis, it is proposed to decentralize and coordinate actions with relevant entities, create and harmonize legal instruments and implement efficient financial mechanisms.
