Law No. 20,230 Authorizes artisanal farm work for self-consumption or marketing to family producers

Description

Law No. 20,230 allows artisanal slaughter of pigs, sheep, poultry and rabbits for self-consumption or marketing by family producers registered with the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries. It defines artisanal slaughter as the small-scale slaughter of animals born and raised on the producer's property, without industrial facilities. In addition, it empowers the Ministry to authorize the slaughter of other species and establishes that the General Farm Directorate will authorize the slaughter quantities allowed for each property.
