Description
Supreme Decree No. 4008 establishes the creation of two national programs focused on sustainable rural development. The first is the National Program to Support Cocoa Production and Harvesting, aimed at increasing the production and marketing of cultivated and wild cocoa in Bolivia. The second is the National Program to Support the Production and Collection of Amazonian Fruits, which includes chestnut, açaí, copoazú and majo, with the aim of increasing the income of indigenous communities through the sustainable use of forest resources. The decree authorizes the transfer of Bs243,371,158 from the General Treasury of the Nation to the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands and the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (INIAF) to finance these programs. The Ministry of Rural Development and Lands, through the Decentralized Public Institution "Food Sovereignty", will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the programs, ensuring compliance with their objectives and goals. The carrying out of public-private transfers for the implementation of the programs is also authorized, and the hiring of consultancies to ensure their proper execution.
