Supreme Decree No. 4008 – Support Programs for Cocoa and Amazonian Fruit Production and Harvesting

Supreme Decree creating the National Program to Support Cocoa Production and Harvesting and the National Program to Support Amazonian Fruit Production and Harvesting. The first program seeks to increase the productive potential of cultivated and native wild cocoa by improving production, harvesting and post-harvest processes for domestic and foreign markets; the second seeks to increase the income of indigenous and intercultural communities through the sustainable use of Brazil nuts, açaí, cupuaçu and majo. The Decree allocates resources for both programs and establishes monitoring and public-private transfer mechanisms.
