Description
Supreme Decree No. 4560 aims to create specific programs to support and increase agricultural and livestock production in Bolivia during the period 2021-2025. These programs include the National Program to Support the Production and Marketing of Vegetables, the Program to Promote Bovine Livestock for Small Producers, the Intervention Program for the Improvement of Pineapple Production for Export and the National Market, and the Improvement of the Production and Marketing of Bananas and Plantains. The Decree details that these programs will be developed through the collaboration of the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands with other entities such as the Deconcentrated Public Institution "Food Sovereignty" (IPDSA), the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Innovation (INIAF), and the National Service of Agricultural Health and Food Safety (SENASAG). The detail by program is, a) National Program to Support the Production and Marketing of Vegetables, with the purpose of increasing the yields of onion, tomato, carrot, pea and bean crops, strengthening the processes of technological innovation, phytosanitary management , technical assistance, promotion of production, post-harvest and marketing; b) Program to Promote Bovine Livestock for Small Producers, with the objective of increasing the production and productivity of the livestock sector, considering the diversity of ecoregions and improving production processes for the domestic market and export of bovine meat; c) Intervention Program for the Improvement of Pineapple Production for Export and the National Market, in order to increase potential production, through comprehensive support to the producing sector, under a vision of competitiveness and sustainability; d) Banana and Plantain Production and Marketing Improvement Program, in order to strengthen the productive potential of bananas and plantains, improving primary production, harvest and post-harvest systems, oriented to the domestic and export markets.
