Supreme Decree No. 1858 – Creation of the Decentralized Public Institution Soberanía Alimentaria

Supreme Decree establishing the Decentralized Public Institution Soberanía Alimentaria under the Ministry of Rural Development and Land for the management, implementation and execution of food sovereignty, food security and productive programs and projects, prioritizing small and medium-sized producers as well as family and community farming. The institution administers programs and projects, monitors and evaluates their implementation, reports information on results, enters into agreements with public, productive, academic, territorial and peasant organizations, manages financial services and may carry out public-private transfers in cash or in kind. The Decree also provides for the dissolution of the Decentralized Food Security Support Program Unit (UD-PASA).
