Fecha de inicio: 28/09/2011
Fecha de fin: 16/08/2023

Description

Decree No. 7,572 establishes the Green Bag Program to support environmental conservation in Brazil. This program is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and is implemented through direct transfers of financial resources to families participating in conservation activities in specific areas. The main objectives of the Green Bag Program are to promote the conservation of ecosystems, improve living conditions and increase the income of extremely poor populations that carry out conservation activities. It also seeks to encourage the participation of these beneficiaries in environmental, social, educational and technical training activities. Families eligible to receive benefits from the program must be in a situation of extreme poverty, registered in the Single Registry of Social Programs of the Federal Government, and carry out conservation activities in the specified areas. In addition, the Green Bag Program Management Committee, established within the Ministry, is responsible for approving the program planning, indicating priority areas and defining criteria for the selection and inclusion of beneficiaries. The decree was modified by decree No. 11,635 in August 2023.
