Description

This law incorporates regulations from the Agricultural Promotion and Development Law, covering aspects such as peasant training, land use, agricultural research, peasant business organization, and ecological measures. In addition, the provisions on the use and exploitation of water are transferred to the Water Law. The objectives of the law are the promotion, development and protection of the agricultural sector to guarantee the nutrition of all Ecuadorians and increase the export of surpluses, within sustainable management of natural resources. To achieve these ends, comprehensive training policies are established for various indigenous and peasant groups, preparation of farmers in modern techniques, implementation of credit insurance, and the organization of national marketing systems to improve profitability and minimize risks in the activity. agrarian. In addition, the law promotes the right to land ownership, both individual and community, and seeks to strengthen community ownership with business and ancestral production criteria.
