The Medellín Climate Action Plan 2020-2050 focuses on two fundamental objectives: mitigating climate change and adapting to its effects. This plan is developed around the implementation of mitigation actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen the city's resilience and adaptability to anticipated climate changes. An inclusive approach is contemplated, seeking the active participation of the community and different actors to ensure effective and equitable implementation. The plan identifies critical areas of action such as disaster risk management, environmental quality, and waste management, among others. Through an integrative approach, we seek to address the city's environmental and social challenges, promoting a transformation towards a sustainable and low-carbon development model. Specific goals have been established for 2030 and 2050, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality and significantly improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Medellín.
