Law No. 3.481 - Law for the Promotion and Control of Organic Production

This Law governs the procedures for the promotion and control of organic production and establishes the guidelines and principles relating to the production, transformation, handling, fractioning, labeling, transportation, storage, marketing and certification of food and non-food products and inputs, organically grown, raised and processed. The Law introduces the institutional framework, creating in particular the Technical Committee for the Promotion of Organic Production; it also regulates the certification and quality control system. Finally, the Law establishes the penalties applicable in case of violation of these provisions.
