Description

This Agreement approves the Regulations for the introduction, conservation, production, certification, distribution and commercialization of grafted avocado plants. The objectives of these Regulations are 1) To promote and encourage the cultivation, production and marketing of avocado in the country; 2) To define the phytosanitary procedures and requirements for the introduction, conservation, production, certification, distribution and marketing of avocado grafted plants in nurseries and production sites to provide the avocado producer, propagation materials of high phytosanitary quality, varietal purity and productive potential throughout the national territory; 3) Establish technical, administrative and legal provisions to regulate and control the introduction, conservation, production, certification, distribution and commercialization of avocado grafted plants produced in nurseries, clonal gardens and mother orchards; 4) Prevent the introduction and dissemination of pests and diseases coming from avocado vegetative materials that affect the phytosanitary status of the country.
