Dominica's Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM), framed within the "Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project" (DEALCRP), aims to provide strategic direction for pest management on the island. This plan establishes strategies and actions designed to minimize the environmental, economic and social impacts of pests. Additionally, it creates a framework for addressing pests of economic importance, enabling the preparation of detailed implementation plans that address a full range of pests at specific sites or more generally. It focuses on promoting the use of environmentally safe control measures, such as hygienic, cultural, biological and natural control practices. Additionally, it seeks to monitor and evaluate the use of pesticides and the effectiveness of the strategies implemented to continually adjust and optimize pest management, ensuring compliance with local and regional standards regarding pesticide use.
