Fecha de inicio: 01/02/2019
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Strategy known as Forest Territories of Life is presented as a transversal policy of the Colombian government to stop deforestation and promote the sustainable management of forests. It is based on five main strategic lines: sociocultural management of forests, development of a forest economy, cross-sector management of territorial planning, permanent monitoring and control, and strengthening of legal, institutional and financial capacities. It focuses on improving the well-being and livelihoods of local communities, strengthening the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services, and contributing to climate change adaptation and mitigation. In addition, it promotes a shared vision of forest management that integrates the differentiated visions of the various social, ethnic and economic groups involved, guaranteeing community participation and gender equity in all activities.
