Law 27734 for the promotion of organic production for regional economies Argentina

Fecha de inicio: 28/09/2023
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The recently enacted law establishes a promotion regime for the production and processing of organic products in Argentina, in line with the existing law on Ecological, Biological or Organic Production. This regime, which will last ten years, is designed to be applied nationally and seeks to promote sustainable and organic agricultural practices. Producers and processors who wish to benefit from this regime must comply with current organic production standards and can be both natural and legal persons domiciled or incorporated in Argentina. The law also introduces significant tax incentives, such as the conversion of 50% of employer contributions into non-transferable tax credit bonuses and a 50% reduction in income tax for covered activities. These incentives are designed to encourage participation in the promotion regime and to support the country's organic economy. In addition, a specific fund is created for the promotion of organic products, which will be financed through budget allocations, donations and funds from international organizations, and will be administered by the Ministry of Economy through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
