Legislative Decree No. 834 Comprehensive Agricultural Marketing Law El Salvador

Fecha de inicio: 29/08/2023
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The Law aims to improve the productivity, profitability, and competitiveness of agribusiness and its production chains to reduce the country's food vulnerability. This will be achieved through the creation of a National Agricultural Supply System that integrates all elements of the sector, from production to consumption, including the promotion of support mechanisms and tools for the agricultural sector. The law seeks to enhance access to new markets, both national and international, and promote the use of modern technologies and sustainable practices in agriculture. In addition, it establishes subsystems for agricultural producers, agro-productive zones, agro-products, post-harvest centers, supply centers and agricultural logistics. Each of these subsystems is designed to optimize different aspects of the agricultural supply chain and ensure efficiency in the production, storage, processing and distribution of agricultural products. The focus is on improving the integration of agricultural producers in markets and strengthening the necessary competencies in the links of the chain to improve food security and work towards the country's food sovereignty.
