Law 11,947 on School Feeding in Brazil highlights the importance of integrating family farming products in purchases for the National School Feeding Program (PNAE). According to this law, it is established that at least 30% of the food purchased for the school program must come from family farming. This measure seeks to support small farmers and promote the consumption of local and sustainable products within schools, which also contributes to improving the local economy and guaranteeing a nutritious and culturally appropriate diet for students.
