Description
Law 1133 of 2007 establishes mechanisms aimed at improving the competitiveness of the Colombian agricultural sector and protecting producers' income against distortions stemming from foreign markets and the internationalization of the economy. The law created the "Agro, Ingreso Seguro" (AIS) program and provided for competitiveness support—including technical assistance, technology development and transfer, land improvement, and other sector support mechanisms. It also established a venture capital investment fund, managed by FINAGRO, to support productive initiatives, prioritizing agro-industrial projects.
