National Plan for the Sustainable Development of Aquaculture in Colombia (PlaNDAS) 2014–2023

The National Plan for the Sustainable Development of Aquaculture in Colombia (PlaNDAS) established the sectoral strategy to promote the sustainable, competitive, and inclusive growth of Colombian aquaculture for the 2014–2023 period. The Plan integrated actions regarding the management and sustainable use of natural resources, institutional strengthening, research and innovation, technology transfer, health and biosecurity, quality and safety, market development, formalization of the aquaculture supply chain, support for resource-limited fish farmers, and access to financing. Its vision sought to consolidate aquaculture as a key component of rural development, food security, and both domestic and international markets.
