Description

The main objective is to improve the health and safety conditions of national agri-food production to protect the health and life of people, animals and plants, increase competitiveness and strengthen the country's capacity to achieve the admissibility of its agri-food products in international markets. The policy is implemented through strategies aimed at the adaptation and institutional strengthening of the National System of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (MSF), the improvement of its operational structure based on a Risk Analysis approach, and the implementation of a transition plan to optimize your operation. The actions proposed in this policy cover intersectoral coordination through the creation of a National SPS Council, the strengthening of national authorities responsible for health and safety, and the expansion of the coverage of control and prevention actions.
