Description
Law 2173 is a legal framework designed to promote ecological restoration and the increase of vegetation cover in the national territory through the creation of forests and the planting of trees. The creation of Life Areas is established in all the municipalities of the country, with the active participation of the population, companies and government entities in ecological restoration and conservation. The aim is for each citizen, with the support of the municipal authorities and in collaboration with companies, to actively participate in the planting of trees, thus promoting environmental awareness and civil responsibility towards the environment. The species to be planted must be native, favouring the recovery of altered or degraded ecosystems and ensuring their long-term sustainability. To achieve these objectives, the law grants a series of incentives and certifications to individuals and companies that participate in planting and restoration programs. The benefits include discounts on services and administrative procedures, as well as on higher education, for those who obtain the Siembra Vida Buen Ciudadano Certificate
