Strategy for the Planning and Organization of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Production

The Strategy for the Organization of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production, formulated by Colombia’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2019, establishes guidelines to direct the production of key value chains toward areas with high suitability and superior productive performance within the agricultural frontier. The strategy combines participatory assessment, indicative planning with a forward-looking perspective, the territorial identification of competitive areas, and the coordination of technical, financial, and commercial incentives. Its aim is to improve productivity, profitability, and competitiveness; reduce risks and uncertainty for producers and investors; and strengthen the links between production and both domestic and international markets.
