The National Drought Risk Reduction Plan of Honduras (PNRRS –Honduras) is a tool that accompanies the regulatory-legal establishment to institutionalize a culture of Comprehensive Risk Management, with the objective of "preventing and mitigating the effects caused by drought, especially in the arid, semi-arid and dry subhumid areas of Honduras, as well as promoting sustainable management of the countrys ecosystems, through the coordination and orderly concurrence of actions, programs and resources of the central government, international cooperation organizations, with the participation of local governments, non-governmental organizations, private companies, and various sectors of the society in follow-up to the official Action Plan to Combat Desertification and Drought
