CONPES 4081 that approves financing for the project of climate-smart initiatives for adaptation to climate change and sustainability in prioritized agricultural production systems

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the Colombian agricultural sector in the face of climate change. It focuses on the implementation of innovative and sustainable agricultural technologies and practices that allow agricultural production systems to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change, thus guaranteeing the country's food security and promoting low-carbon agricultural development. This project is structured around four fundamental components: (1) the integration of digital agriculture and climate services to modernize the rural sector, with emphasis on climate change adaptation and mitigation; (2) genetic improvement and development of crop management techniques and other scalable technological options to increase the resilience of agricultural systems and promote low-carbon practices; (3) the creation of innovative and inclusive business models that involve modern innovation systems and a stronger commitment of the financial sector; and (4) the administrative management of the project.
