Vivir Bien (or Buen Vivir) is a proposed government model and philosophy of life promoted by the government of Bolivia, inspired by indigenous Andean worldviews. This approach seeks to redefine the concept of well-being, focusing on harmony within the community and with nature, as opposed to development models based on economic growth and material accumulation. Living Well focuses on the satisfaction of everyone's basic needs, respect for the rights of Mother Earth, the equitable redistribution of resources, and the promotion of values such as solidarity, reciprocity, and mutual respect. The implementation of this model in Bolivia has involved policies aimed at protecting the environment, strengthening indigenous rights, food and energy sovereignty, and restructuring state institutions to reflect these principles. Furthermore, an integration of ancestral knowledge and practices with contemporary public policies has been sought, to create a state that not only promotes economic well-being, but also ecological balance and social justice.
