Decree Law No. 388/2019. of Plant Genetic Resources for Food, Agriculture and Seeds in Cuba

This regulation covers the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources, the approval, registration and cancellation of commercial varieties, as well as the seed production chain. It also establishes procedures for the inspection, certification of seeds and the issuance of quality certificates, in addition to regulating the application of genetic engineering and biotechnology to obtain new varieties. It includes regulations on the reserve of seeds for disaster cases, the import and export of seeds, and establishes the contravention regime and applicable measures.
