Description

The purpose of this law is to promote efficient seed production and marketing activity, ensure producers agrarians the identity and quality of the seed they acquire and protect the property of phytogenetic creations. This law establishes the requirements for the identification, classification, and registration of seeds, creates a National Seed Commission and establishes sanctions for violations of the law. It also addresses issues relating to the ownership of cultivars, with a focus on protecting breeders' rights and promoting innovation in the agricultural sector.
