Description

The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction constitutes a key agreement for protecting development progress in the face of disasters. This framework proposes a series of concrete measures to be taken by Member States, aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals, and encourages the following: The substantial reduction of disaster risk and losses caused by disasters, both in lives, livelihoods and health, as well as in economic, physical, social, cultural and environmental assets of people, companies, communities and countries.
